Thrashers moved to Winnipeg JetsThrashers moved to Winnipeg Jets

Bad times for hockey fans in Atlanta because for the second time the city's NHL franchise was moved to Canada. As you probably know the Atlanta Thrashers have become the Winnipeg Jets, following in the steps of the Calgary Flame. Although the Thrashers never got too far in Atlanta, they had plenty of fans packing the stands. Unfortunately it wasn't enough, and the Thrashers were sold to True North Entertainment. The Winnipeg Jets, formerly the Atlanta Thrashers, will take the ice at the MTS Center in the 2011 - 12 NHL season, and hockey fans in Atlanta are out of luck. No more Atlanta Thrashers tickets, unless you want to do some traveling to get Winnipeg Jets tickets and watch the old team in their new digs.

Sports fans will have to look to the Atlanta Braves during the summer, as baseball is the game in the summer. In the fall of course the Atlanta Falcons football team has everyone in the state talking. Of course you've got the Georgia Bulldogs and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for the college football needs. With a little luck they might even make it to the SEC Championship Game one of these years. Atlanta is crazy about sports, and tickets for sporting events in the city go fast. And likely the sporting team that will absorb the most of the fans that bough Atlanta Thrashers tickets will be fans buying tickets for the Atlanta Hawks. The Atlanta Hawks have gotten a lot better, and as they play at the Phillips Arena it is gong to be a crazy time. SO yeah its too bad that the Thrashers were relocated to Winnipeg, but there are still sports options left in Atlanta.
